M The Galleries in Washington (formerly known as The Galleries) is celebrating a successful year, having welcomed two exciting new tenants and received two prestigious awards that highlight its commitment to both retail growth and sustainability.
New Tenants Join the Centre
This year, M The Galleries has expanded its retail offering with the arrival of three new tenants. On the ground floor, Country Kitchen and Eden Mobility have opened their doors, with Natural Soul Skincare joining the first floor.
- Country Kitchen has signed a five-year lease for 1,167 sq ft, enhancing the centre’s food and beverage options after completing a full refurbishment of Unit 63.
- Eden Mobility, also committing to a five-year lease, occupies 1,337 sq ft in Unit 30, offering a range of mobility products and services such as scooters, stairlifts, and bathroom adaptations.
These openings follow the completion of 19 deals at the centre this year, bringing the total repurposed space to over 41,000 sq ft.
Exciting Developments Ahead
The shopping centre is also nearing the completion of a redevelopment project in an underused area, which will feature new shop fronts, external cladding, and landscaping. This new space will welcome high-profile retailers, including:
- JD Sports (11,142 sq ft)
- Pure Gym (10,812 sq ft)
- Loungers Bar (3,968 sq ft)
Award-Winning Achievements
M The Galleries’ commitment to sustainability and safety has been recognized with two prestigious awards. The centre recently received a RoSPA Gold Award, acknowledging its outstanding health and safety management.
Additionally, M The Galleries was honored with Green Apple Awards, celebrating its ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption. As part of this initiative, outdated lighting has been replaced with energy-efficient LEDs, and passive infrared (PIR) sensors have been installed in areas where lighting isn’t needed continuously.
Simon Eatough, Director at LCP and Asset Manager for M The Galleries, shared his excitement:
“We’re thrilled to have achieved full occupancy on the ground floor and are excited to complete redevelopment work in a previously underused area of the centre. The new developments will help solidify M The Galleries as a vibrant and diverse shopping destination. We’re also incredibly proud of our recognition for energy and waste management, as well as our commitment to health and safety.”
